Participatory project of the Crusem Langacker Oderfang neighborhood committee 2025/2026

Creation of an intergenerational space between Villa d'Avril and Crusem elementary schools.
The project: The neighborhood committee is working on a participatory project to create an intergenerational space between Villa d'Avril and the Crusem elementary schools.
The site is currently a large, undeveloped grassy area located nearby:
- of the nursing home (Villa d'Avril),
- schools,
- many homes.
This location makes it an ideal place for people to meet, share, and interact across generations.
A civic-minded approach: The neighborhood committee's project is based on the needs of future users and is being carried out in several stages.
• Survey (November/December 2025)
A survey was conducted among schoolchildren and residents of the nursing home to identify their expectations.

Participatory workshops underway – Early 2026
A series of workshops open to local residents is being organized in order to:
- • work in small groups,
- • compare and enrich ideas,
- • Design one or more models of the future layout.
These discussions are supported by the expertise of Julian PIERRE, consulting architect at CAUE Metz.

First workshop – February 4, 2026:
Around twenty residents of all ages gathered at the Maison des Associations du Crusem to share their proposals and ideas and to collectively reflect on the development of the space.
Second workshop – February 18, 2026:
After visiting the site to identify its strengths and constraints, the participants engaged in a thorough process of reflection and design. With the expert guidance of Mr. Julian Pierre, consulting architect at CAUE Metz, they developed two structured and complementary development proposals.
Next steps: presentation of the development plan
A development plan will be drawn up based on the elements on which consensus has been reached.
The presentation date will be announced at a later stage.
This project:
- is supported by the neighborhood committee,
- is currently under review,
- does not commit the municipality at this stage.
