Concours Maisons Fleuries

 Its aim is to reward the initiatives of residents who make a special effort to beautify and green their homes. In other words, it's a great way to enhance your home, show off your gardening skills and give the town of Saint-Avold a good name.

What about the competition?

This competition takes place every year during the summer vacations.

Jury composition 

They are made up of elected representatives and members of associations linked to the environment department.

  • Jeanne d'Arc / Route de Porcelette neighborhood
  • Langacker / Pierrard district
  • Quartier Carrière / Wenheck
  • Huchet / Tyrol district
  • Centre-Ville / Dourd'hal district

Rating criteria 

The town of Saint-Avold pays particular attention to "biodiversity" and "sustainable development". For this reason, the jury pays close attention to "eco-gardening" practices, and selects blooming plants according to the following criteria:

  1. The long-term repercussions of becoming an eco-responsible gardener (rainwater harvesting, use of economical watering systems, mulching to preserve humidity and protect plantations from weeds, etc.);
  2. Cleanliness and the environment;
  3. Annuals ;
  4. Perennials ;
  5. Landscaping.
