Early childhood

The "Arc en ciel" day-care center is run by the "Maison de la petite enfance" association, which was founded in 1983. It can accommodate 44 children aged from 10 weeks to 6 years. Priority is given to families living in Saint-Avold, to children of parents working in Saint-Avold and, subject to availability, to children from outside the town. The Maison de la Petite Enfance is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of 16 people.

The multi-accueil is open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6.00pm
Annual closure of 4 weeks between July and August.

The Relais Petite Enfance is a place where parents, future parents, childminders and others wishing to work in this profession can find information. It is open to MAM (Maison d'Assistants Maternels) and future MAM projects, as well as GAD (Garde d'Enfants à domicile)
. The service is free and open to all.

The Relais Assistants Maternels can help you:

  • in your search for an available childminder,
  • in your administrative procedures as the employer of an approved childminder,
  • inform you about your rights and obligations, the assistance you can claim and current legislation,
  • exchanging ideas with other parents at evening debates on a variety of educational topics.

The relais parents assistants maternels can provide you with :

  • a place to listen and talk about your profession, your relationships with parents, your educational concerns, etc.
  • a link with parents looking for approved childminders (to make your availability known),
  • support with administrative formalities: employment contracts, national collective bargaining agreements, new legislation, etc.
  • information on the profession, educational themes, training, etc. through meetings.
