Let's work together to develop the Saint-Avold Charter for Citizen Participation

The City of Saint-Avold aims to encourage residents to become more involved in local life and to develop new forms of dialogue between citizens, elected officials, and municipal departments.

Because everyone experiences the city on a daily basis, residents have valuable insight into their living environment, their needs, and the issues facing their neighborhood. Citizen participation thus helps enrich municipal projects, foster the exchange of ideas, and collectively develop initiatives that are more in tune with the realities on the ground.

Through this initiative, the City aims to encourage open, constructive participation that is accessible to all, in a spirit of listening, transparency, and cooperation.

In order to work together to define the guiding principles of this citizen participation, the municipality is initiating the development of a Charter for Citizen Participation in Saint-Avold.

The purpose of this document is to establish a common framework, clarify the City’s commitments, and better define the procedures for dialogue and consultation with residents.

A consultation open to everyone

Residents, organizations, local stakeholders, and city users: everyone can participate in this collective discussion.
Several tools will be made available throughout the process:
• online questionnaire;
• opportunities for discussion and reflection with residents;
• suggestion boxes.

Every contribution can help foster a local democracy that is more accessible, more participatory, and better aligned with your expectations.

A collective and evolving approach

Following the consultation process, a working group composed of citizens, elected officials, and municipal employees will review and propose a “Charter on Citizen Participation in Saint-Avold,” which will be put to a vote by the City Council.

  • Sports and Community Organizations Festival on September 5 and 6, 2026; Participatory Democracy Booth.
