Victor" appliances
The "Victor" devices have been available free of charge since 2012, in conjunction with the Sound Library. A specific agreement exists for this purpose. The Victor player is a CD player in audio, MP3 or DAISY format, specially adapted to the needs of visually impaired or 80% disabled people. It features large buttons in different shapes, contrasting colors, voice prompts, etc. This Victor device lets you listen to recordings, memorizing the stop zone and resuming at the same point. CD insertion is simplified by its disc-eating shape and large handle.
To complement the work of the Sound Library, large-print books and audio books are available at the Médiathèque.

The media library has developed a collection of "Easy to Read" books for children with dyslexia.

Vis mon handicap
Raising awareness of the mobility problems faced by people with disabilities... This has been achieved at the Jean de la Fontaine secondary school thanks to the action led by Asmir MUSOVIC, Municipal Youth Councillor for SAINT-AVOLD and a student at the Huchet IEM. Supported by 4 of his fellow CMJ members, he worked with the IEM de Huchet, the Collège and its Civil Security cadets, APF France Handicap and the CITY to organize a number of simulation workshops for classes of 5th graders_ The 3 classes of 6th graders at Collège Jean de la Fontaine took part, with raised floors, several obstacles, a blind course, a grass course, basketball, a course with slaloms, then a ramp... All in wheelchairs!
Many thanks to all participants.
